Ella Roberts has claimed her second derby medal but in a win for the first time after the superstar led West Coast to an upset 12-point victory at Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Sunday.

Roberts had previously claimed the honour in a losing cause back in 2023, but this time she got to sing the team song with the medal around her neck after the Eagles were victorious 5.9 (39) to 4.3 (27).

As usual, the 21-year-old was a class above, finishing with a team-high 22 disposals, four inside 50s and a classy third-quarter goal to go with six tackles, three clearances and 393m gained.

It was a historic day for the Eagles, who had never won a derby in their previous eight attempts but kicked the final four goals to over-run the Dockers and spoil midfielder Hayley Miller’s historic 100th game.

Roberts joins Fremantle great Kiara Bowers as the only multiple winner of the derby medal, with the Docker having won the first four in a historic and dominant run.

More to come…
